Math - we did a class review about proportional reasoning today.
Test Wednesday - Grade 5 concentrate on fractions and decimals
Grade 6 concentrate on fractions, decimals, percentage and ratios
L.A. / S.S. - I've introduced students to an online resource called CultureGrams online database (World edition). It's a great place to find out information about different countries. We read the Canada entry.
Complete the chart of what services federal, provincial and municipal governments are responsible for in Canada. I've handed out the worksheet. This can also be completed via a google doc which I have given each student a copy in their Google Drives.
Science - Work on wordsearch / crossword about Forces acting upon structures for Wednesday.
Media/L.A. - We started watching episode 3 today of Kid Nation. There is a writing assignment that will be assigned tomorrow which I shared today in class. Students will get their copy of the assignment in class tomorrow to staple into their L.A. notebooks. Work should be completed in there or on google docs.
Robotics:
We had a chance to be part of a visit from a group of high school students who are ranked quite high nationality in the FIRST robotics competition. The Riverdale students shared how many roles are required to have a successful robotics team. Some room 201 and 312 students even had a chance to try out and control the robot.
