July 1st used to be known as Dominion Day. Remember that back in 1867, a number of independent areas in the land that we now know is Canada signed a paper of Confederation (to join together to be under one rule or dominion) in Charlottetown, PEI on July 1st.
Here's one of my favourite all-time Canadian song writers and singers Gordon Lightfoot.
He write about many topics including many Canadian ideas and historical events.
