Mon. April 10

We had a fast moving day today. I've spoken with the class, who seem to be concerned about Heritage Fair.

Special days: Blue Jays gear day - Tuesday
Pink Shirt day - Wednesday

Chromebook use:
I am giving students the opportunity to work on Heritage Fair at school. This social studies project is also most of the daily homework required for each student after school. We know the wifi is glitchy AND jot notes or research is supposed to be complete.

Your time on the Chromebooks should be used to write out work into paragraphs and categories and not surfing for further information (no need of wifi). Bookmark and save images, create maps, drawing, and other visuals to support your Heritage Fair topic.

The use of the Chromebook is not for games or use of the text-to-speech features when wifi isn't working.

New deadline: Monday, April 24. (Heritage Fair complete)
School-wide Heritage Fair is: Thursday, April 27.

That gives students some days to practice presenting and answering questions about their topic.

Math - We started a fractions package today. This work is expected to be completed in class. I've posted the package  (eight assignments in eight days) in the Google Classroom.

Art - Canada 150 due Thursday.

Sciene - Grade 5s - We explored the five states of matter and discussed and played a game about chemical vs. physical changes. Handout and reading found in Grade 5 Science Google Classroom.
