May 3, 2017

We have been invade by long erasers and smelly teddy bears.
And some students have purchased books too.

It was the last day of Book Fair today.

L.A. - We had class time to work on the Kid Nation questions 2-5 which are due on Monday. Luckily the wifi worked well. Most students stayed on tsk.

We are doing a simulation in class as well with orange, teal and purple groups.

Right now Orange (34 points), Teal (38 points) and Purple (35 points). Points are based on learning skills as well as resilience and problem solving characteristics shown throughout the day.

Math - Students continue to explore proportional reasoning. We focussed on unit rate, unit price, etc. today. A few students need to hand in Tuesday's question sheet.
A combination of Wednesday and Thursday big idea questions will be due at the end of class tomorrow or it's homework.

Dance - We had our first of three classes with a special guest Dance artist today. Most students had fun and/or took risks to try out moves. We have another session on Friday morning as well as next Tuesday morning.

S.S. - We ended Heritage Fair reviews and sharing today. I'm asking student to please bring home their boards now. William from our class is representing Bowmore in the city Heritage Fair tomorrow. The funding has been cut so only 30 students in total are going (grades 4-8) and not all classes have representation.

Science - Grade 5s went to explore learning and went through the Phase Changes lab. This explore learning class is different than our class one. However, I've added the two simulations that we will be doing over the next week or so to our class Math explore learning site as well.
