I've put together written work/packages for students to complete during the in-class time. There shouldn't be any homework unless they are still finishing their book study #1 (or other missing work). I've e-mailed individual students via Google classroom to let them know if I was missing anything.
I've told students to please come to room 201 for attendance and to pick up your work package and schedule for the day. Please hand everything back in at the end of the day. Even though they each have a paper copy, I've attached the Kid Nation episode 5 question sheet and the outline of the Book study #2 to today's google classroom announcement.
Priorities based on time/deadlines:
Finish
1. Please finish Kid Nation episode 5 questions in your Language Arts notebook by Friday.
2. Please finish the social studies and science readings by Friday. (Some have not completed previous Science readings with questions in their yellow folders. Please come to me at lunch or recess if you are having any difficulties.)
3. Complete the Math questions by Friday. (Please see me at lunch if you have any questions or need clarification on any of the work. )
A process and check-in next week:
You can start reading your Book study #2 (complete the rough copy write-up) but we still need to finish the student sharing of Book study #1 first.
Book study #1 - If you would like to create a questions set of three questions using the Promethean ActivExpressions, please write out your questions and the question type in your Language Arts notebook (Please just one text question.)
Art - I've included a 3d shapes assignment (making 2d objects jump out using the idea of "value" the lightness or darkness of tones or colors. White is the lightest value; black is the darkest.)

Dear Parents,
Next week, Wednesday May 31st is the Junior Spring Concert! The kids have been working very hard and it’s going to be a great show!
The concert is going to start at 6:30 PM in the North Gym. All students should go to their classrooms at 6:00. No earlier please. If your child is in junior strings, they can go to the strings room (309) after checking in with their classroom teacher. The concert will be over by 7:30. Students can be picked up from their classrooms (not the gym).
The ‘costumes’ will be coloured shirts; a different colour for different classes. Students should wear a shirt that is primarily the following colours:
Ms. Moran and Ms. Reinsalu: Black
Ms. Jarvis and Ms. Gatt: White
Ms. Obakata and Ms. Del Aguila: Red
Mr. Comendador and Ms. Varga : Blue
Ms. Rahbek and Ms. Johnston: Green
Please arrange for your child to wear the correct colour shirt for the night of the concert. It is fine if the shirts have some logos or lettering, but please try and provide a shirt that is primarily the colour associated with their classroom.
