MIA 7 week 2 - July 9-11 block 2

Everyone should have sumbitted their bitstrips outlining "My feelings about Math" over the weekend.

Monday's homework is to complete, in full sentences, using at least one example of the "reflection leaf" handed out on Friday.

To mathematize something means.....

I am good mathematizing things using....

Our learning goals for the next three days are:

- understand that patterns are changes that are predictable and can be mathematized
(many changes are not predictable and can’t be mathematized);
- isolate the change and the constant features of a pattern to understand how it works;
- understand that “linear” relationships between ordered pairs are those that literally “line
up” on a scatter-plot or line graph.

Success Criteria: We will know we are successful when we are able to ...
- represent patterns and relationships using models, diagrams, relational t-charts, addition
expressions and multiplication expressions, rules, and graphs;
- use algebraic equations to represent relationships (including changing and constant
features);
- explain how a math model, expression, or equation represents the same relationship
and why the pattern/relationship works using full English sentences

We will explore Linear equations and the order of operations (BEDMAS).

If you have a chance, please fill out the Survey Monkey survey. Just let me know you have completed this survey by including your initials or first name at the last answer of the survey.
