Math- geometry
This is the last week to complete a dilation (enlargement) of a sketch you will make.
The border should have all three transformations: slide(translation), flip (reflection) and turn (rotation).
The centre of the artwork should be created as a slide, flip and/or turn.
Then you mark the four-quadrants on the picture. Mark the coordinates and redraw your picture using grid paper.
Language / media: Procedural writing
“Easter Egg/Pysanka” Wax Resistance Workshop
With your partner, write a list of instructions (procedural writing) for Pysanka. This is
third person point of view.
You must have the following titles for each section:
Purpose:
Materials:
Method/Instructions/Procedure:
Observations:
Cautions:
Conclusions:
Include helpful diagrams / drawings where you think it is necessary.
There are photos in the shared drive: Bowmore students Room 303 Pysanka
Remember: Your instructions should be able to describe to someone how to do this artwork, by just reading your procedural writing on its own.
Rough draft: due: Friday, April 16.
Individual reflection.
Answer the following about your experiences with Pysanka last week.
Create a journal entry telling a fellow student what you did last Wednesday. Include your feelings during and after the activity. (You can choose to a) write an e-mail b) write a letter c) prepare a “mock conversation” dramatic script.
What did you enjoy most about doing this activity?
We will finish Home T.E.A.M. this week. Our trip to the literacy conference will be May 7th. Forms should be coming soon.
Having some experience now, what would you do different next time?
