homework for Oct. 1

Happy October!
The character trait we are actively working on this month is RESPONSIBILITY.
(We always try to build on many character traits each and every day however.)

Homework:
Reading log (20 minutes plus recording in reading log)

Reading responses (will be collected - two on Terry Fox)

Dr. Lorne Babiuk responses (worked in class on completing the five questions)

Math - we examined some math vocabulary and rules of calculations.

odd number x odd number = odd product (or answer)
even number x even number = even product

even x odd = even number
odd x even = even number

We also wrote about sum, difference, produt and quotient.
Thanks to Majid for typing out the notes:

Sum: answer to an adding question
Eg the sum of 2 and 2 is 4 (2+2=4)

Difference:
answer to subtraction question eg. The difference form day to night is 5◦c. (12◦-7◦c = 5◦)

Product: answer to a multiplication question
Eg. One USB costs $20.00. how much will five USBS cost?
$20.00X5=$100.00 the product is $ 100.00.

Quotient: answer to a division question

Eg. We have 30 students. How many groups of 5 can we make?
(The quotient or answer is 6.)

Complete more of the math sheets in orange duotang. Use some of the multiplication rules to doublecheck your answer.
