Homework for March 3 and behaviour

This is a reminder to students of class 7-7 that you are children. And as children you have certain rights such as to shelter, clothing, food and a right to an education.

All children in our class deserve that right. Some of you are interfering with the rights of the class as a whole for having a safe, positive, learning environment. You do not have the right to speak rudely to adults at school, who make reasonable requests. You do not have the right to talk back and question my intentions. You do have a right to a time-out BUT NOT AFTER you have already made a choice to break the rules and be disrespectful to me or other students.
Several incidents occured today with regards to basic student expectations of behaviour.

You are: -expected to respect others personal space, there is no physical contact of any kind
-expected to have all materials in class as required
-expected to have access to water and washrooms at appropriate times (barring emergencies) it is not appropriate to walk around and be loud during test taking times as this disrupts the learning environment of others
-no gum chewing is permitted at school (why in March, half-way through your second school year that you NEED to be reminded is unacceptable)
-no use of PSPs, MP3 players or other electronic devices during school time, this also disrupts the learning environment and is disrespectful to others
- expected to follow reasonable requests such as "please sit down at your desk, please take out your pencil, please tuck in your chair"

I AM NOT RUDE TO YOU, PLEASE DON'T BE RUDE TO ME. WHEN YOU ARE DISRESPECTFUL YOU ARE DISRESPECTING YOUR FAMILIES.

I know that this behaviour is not acceptable at home.

Thanks for your time.
