homework for March 20

It was a quick and quiet day.

In the morning we practiced using different sentence types.

notes:
Sentences are:
- words that make ideas, thoughts, meaning and a topic
- subject and verb together (sometimes the subject is hidden like Go! (really means (You) go!

Different types add variety:
- declarative (makes a statement, just telling something) – ends with period .
- imperative (gives a command, tells “you” what to do) – ends with period . or exclamation mark !
- interrogative (a question, asking something) –ends with question mark ?

- exclamatory (shouting or exclaiming something) –ends with exclamation mark !

Each group was asked to work on a study note / cheat sheet about how to calculate:
- the area of triangles
- the area of parallelogram
- the area of trapezoids

Homework for today:

Math page: Shapes (say Explore 6.3)
Calculate the perimeter and area of each of the shapes. A - J

L.A.: Read novel
Novel study:
Work on title page (bring Wednesday)
Find at least 5 of 15 vocabulary words for your novel (bring Wednesday)

History/Geography: Carefully label map and answer questions about Sierra Leone. (see March 1st posting if you forgot the paper at home)
