Tues. April 18, 2017

Hi and happy Tuesday.

Seems like everyone had an active and fun four-day weekend.

We started practicing for the cooperation assembly today. I've uploaded an example video and the lyrics of the song we are "cooperating" to perform in Google Classroom.

I also appreciate everyone's cooperation in keeping true to having an engaging, clean and productive learning environment, where everyone feels safe and ready to learn.

Math - It is our second week into the Fractions package. I've designed it to bring out all of the key learning goals for this strand. All components are due Friday. Here's a copy of the package, which I've posted already last week in the Google Classroom.

Some examples of what the symmetry art could look like:

Example of the mosaic art (in our assignment, I have asked students to include per cents as well.)

Social Studies: Heritage Fair (Bowmore date) now April 26th. But the due date is still April 24th. Everyone seems to be well on their way and has picked up a board. I am giving time in class for peer and teacher editing. However, most boards seem to be at home.

Language: We are continuing a Reader's Theatre short skit and students are writing "the next scene" in their groups.
