Hi. If you have time this weekend, check out this mapping web site. Unlike most maps, worldmapper takes data and arranges it not only by political borders (countries) and land area. There are dozens of categories such as: internet users, wealth, poverty, education level etc.
The main page is: http://www.sasi.group.shef.ac.uk/worldmapper/index.html but, more interesting, is the Map Categories area at the bottom left corner of the main page.
Both grade 7 and 8 will be doing an investigation of this site next week.
Math grade 8 - finish the Trail Design project.
Math grade 7 - continue working on the Geocity. Next week you will be planning and writing a story about: A Day in the Life of my Geocity. What makes _____ city a great community to live in.

Language grade 8 - most have finished recording P.S.A.s and xtranormal multimedia P.S.A.s Continue and complete a "How-to:" This will be converted to a Comic Life or Windows Media Maker project.
