Homework for Oct. 1

Weekend:
If you have a chance go to http://aw.tdsb.on.ca and see if you can log-in to our class site (at school). It is a new academic workspace. You sign in using the same login and password that would get you onto a computer at school. I've uploaded readings and questions for grade 7s so far. I have also posted the answer to the question, " What is Miss Reinsalu's favourite colour?" in the announcement area. What do you think?

Math -always use pg137 of your agenda as a reference for grade 7 and 8 vocabulary and/or forumlae to assist you. Always write down questions that you have for help at school on the next day.

Grade 8s given a four-page package (started in class) to be completed over the weekend. Review of terms, formula and procedures of estimation and actual totally - use of money, along with symmetry, similar and congruent.

Grade 7s have four-page package (started in class) to be completed over the weekend.
Review of measurement ideas such as perimeter, area and volume.

Language
Grade 8s - Heroes and the Fight over Fur readings and questions.

Grade 7s - Aboriginal Sports / Food readings and questions.

Create an information chart using the headings Part of Canada and Aboriginal Food. Use information from the story, fill out the chart. Eg.

Rewrite the Tsaibesa’s Bannock recipe using a PROCEDURAL style of writing.
(Remember procedural writing is step-by-step instructions.
Each step begins with a number and starts with a verb.
The first step is done for you.

Combine flour, baking powder, sugar and salt in a large bowl.
