In math we are finishing our revisiting of fractions, reducing fractions, mixed numbers as well as adding and subtracting fractions.
While there is no homework (other than RAKs...random acts of kindness and EFAs environmentally friendly acts)...here are a few activities / web sites of interest that can keep you busy over the week.
There is a web site about antibullying "The Misadventures of Bully Boy and Gossip Girl".
On this site, there are interesting stories etc. and the authors have announced a design contest.

Environmentally-minded?
Well, I've recently discovered that the EcoKids Canada web site has a lot of interesting information, activities and even homework help.
Click onEcoKids for the home page.
By the way, EcoKids also has a contest that we are going to research sumbissions in the first week after the break (The deadline is the Friday, March 27 - our school's Earth Hour day.)
Basically, come up with an environmental problem and find a way to solve it. Simple or complicated ideas will do.

From the site:
Remember, your invention doesn’t have to be complicated or sophisticated. Sometimes the simplest ideas work the best!
Here's one example entry from a grade 8 student in Ottawa: "Here’s something to inspire all you eco-inventors! Charlie Sobcov from Ottawa just invented a way to keep birds from colliding with windows in city buildings. Birds usually get confused by the clear glass or the reflection of the sky in the windows. But Charlie has been studying up on bird eyesight, and discovered that they can see colours in the infra-red range that are invisible to the human eye! He has made special stickers painted with this colour that birds can see, and he has been testing them on windows around the city. It’s a huge success, the birds see the warning shape and steer clear! And since the stickers are invisible, they don’t get in the way of peoples’ view. Way to go Charlie!"
