Grade 8 week of Sept. 8 info / problem solving

Key dates coming up:

History cover page - due: Monday (September 15)
Music project - due: Wednesday (September 17)
Science Water Conservation poster - due: Friday (September 26) (It's a PA Day so plan to get it done for Sept. 25)

Note from Math (can be applied to any problem though):

Problem solving in FOUR STEPS

1. Understand
What is known?
What do you need to find out?
What other information do you need to get?

2. Plan
What formula(e) do you need?
Way to solve the problem (lists, find a way to chill, draw picture, talk it out, use music, make something (model) etc.

3. Execute / Do it! Solve the problem
- calculate
- show your work
- find the answer

4. Look back / Check your work
Does your answer make sense?
Prove it / show your work?
Aha, did you answer the question that was being asked?
If there is more than one part, did you answer ALL of the question?
