homework for Dec. 6

Homework for today includes:

Math - three pages of ratio (two sheets, one is double sided) bring tomorrow

L.A. - Ryan's Well questions (from your assembly today)

Tomorrow:

I had to go to the meeting immediately after lunch, so I didn't have a chance to ask about the cooking. However, if SOME PEOPLE could please bring in baking sheets, I'd still like to make the sweet potato biscuits.

I am going to pre-cook the sweet potato and bring it to school tomorrow.

Also, I've read many of your answers to the Ratatouille questions. Many of you may clear and insightful answers, often backing up your opinion. Well done!

Mbatata (sweet potato) Biscuits

3/4 cups mashed sweet potato
1/4 cup milk
4 Tbs. melted margarine
1 1/4 cups sifted flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Mix sweet potatoes, milk, and melted margarine and beat well. Sift and stir in the remaining ingredients. Turn onto a floured board, knead lightly and roll out 1/2 an inch thick. Cut with a cookie or biscuit cutter. Place biscuits on a greased baking sheet, and bake for 15 minutes.

(I also bought some cheese, so we could possibly make a batch of marbled cheddar biscuits too. (in place of the sweet potato - but I need to see HOW the chemistry will change if we substitute ingredients)

Zikomo kwambiri (thank you very much) in Chichewa (che-CHAY-wah) - the national language of Malawi.

No problems..
