homework for Oct. 17

We made Bannock today.

It was an exciting afternoon. And although some students were a bit noisy, everyone was focused and seemed to have fun.

I will be baking the individual loaves (singular loaf) tonight.
I have yummy strawberry jam, but bring something else if you want it! Remember we are a peanut and nut safe school though.

Homework tonight:
Math pg 47 1-4
We've started unit 2 - ratios
You must know...what a ratio is in your own words.
Part-to-whole and part-to-part ratios.

eg. I have 5 animals: two dogs, a cat, a fish and a rat.
The part-to-whole ratio of dogs to the total animals is 2:5
the part-to-part ratio of dogs to cat is 2:1

The terms of a ratio are the numbers you use.
2 is the first term and 1 is the second term in the ratio above.

Remember the history test is Monday (on all the terms readings and answers so far. Please study one of the sections each night before Monday.
You have done: Aboriginal readings food and play
Jacques Cartier
Samuel Champlain
Colonization of the New World
Fight over Fur

know it!!
