homework Jan. 12-14

Grade 7 Finish converting novel text into Reader's Theatre script for a scene in The Breadwinner. Rehearse your part and practice. Record Reader's Theatre next week.
Finish reading to page 103 for Friday.

Grade 8 - Select a scene and convert novel text into Reader's Theatre script for a scene in Iqbal.
Rehearse premade Reader's Theatre script. Record podcast for two scripts next week.
Finish reading to page 120 for Friday.

Spelling: short and long vowel sounds complete.
This week: Consonent blends (hear the sound of each consonant in the word) Consonent digraphs (two consonants together make a completely different sound) and the many sounds of f.

Dance: BERST - practice analysing different dances using mnemonics (Body, Energy, Relationship, Space and Tempo).
Grade 7 & 8 will be watch an older film on Ethnic Dances in the World. Why do some folkdances have women only or men only dances? What kind of society has dancers dance in circles versus straight lines?
What can we infer about different dance movements depending on the cultural traditions of an area in the world? Find out this and more tomorrow.

Math - grade 8 Sonic four-quadrant picture due Friday. Start own four quadrant artwork Thursday.
Criteria: Minimum of eight shapes. Complete drawing should reach all four quadrants.
Locate coordinate points and rewrite instructions so that a classmate can reproduce your drawing.
Rubric to be handed out Thursday.
Due: Wednesday, Jan. 19.
