Math - We are finishing up our work with fractions this week.
On Friday there is a quiz.
Our next topic is coordinates and geometric transformations.
First we're going to plot on all four coordinates. Then we're going to contruct our own coordinate pictures. Finally, we're going to transform two-dimensional shapes - eg. translate (slide), rotate (turn) and reflect (flip).
For practice on plotting coordinate check out: http://www.mathsisfun.com/data/cartesian-coordinates-interactive.html
Language: We are thinking green this week in preparation Earth Hour.
Each student is asked to create an eco-invention in order to solve an environmental problem.
The outline is writing along with a diagram.
See ecokids.org website for an official form.
Reading - We are reading web sites (environmental) and revisiting our Barrack Obama reading response.
Media: by creating our Eco Invention outline, we are creating another media work in the form of a contest application. Students are also to be working on completing their research project as well.
