Kid Nation – All about students in 7G

Design Cycle parts 1&2 - Investigate/Plan

It’s almost the mid-part of the school year. It’s time to update your photo and your classroom biography. This is a question and answer (Q & A) format.

You will be using Microsoft Publisher to create your final layout.

First pick 10 questions (six from “The Big Picture” and four from “Thoughts on Things”). These are the same questions that were asked of the students of Kid Nation too. You can see their answers at: http://www.cbs.com/primetime/kid_nation/bio.shtml.

The Big Picture (pick six questions)

Put a check mark or x beside the question you will answer.

What world leader do you admire?

How would you change the world?

What do you think about having power over others?

(What have you learned about power? -was the original question)

Is power a good thing?

What makes a good leader?

Who have been some of the best (Canadian prime ministers), and why?

Who have been some of the worst (Canadian prime ministers), and why?

When you become an adult, what do you think will be the biggest problem facing our nation and/or world?

If you had the power to change one or two things about our country right now, what would it be?

Why are some people rich and others poor?

Do you believe global warming is a fact or a myth? If you think it is a fact, what would you do about it if you were in charge?

Do you belong to any organizations or clubs?

If you could switch places with one person, who would it be and why?

Thoughts on Things (pick four questions)

Put a check mark or x beside the question you will answer.

Do you think adults should listen more to kids? If so, why?

Is it possible for a 9-year-old to make a better leader than a 14-year-old? How so, or why not?

Should kids be allowed to vote?

Do you have any kid role models? If so, who?

What would you do if you won the lottery?

What do you want to be when you grow up?

What would people be surprised to learn about you?

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

Design Cycle: Plan

Your biography must contain your head shot (portrait) in the centre of the page.

How you put together the questions is up to you.

Make a rough sketch.
