YAY for class 7G, 6B, 6C, 678, and other members of the MVMS Green Team for participating in the World Record Walk.
Students all over Canada participated.
Hopefully Ontario had the most participants and we are part of a new World Record!!
Many students needed a reminder / tutorial on how to write a complete paragraph.
Please reread these notes:
Generally each paragraph contains sentences that are about the same idea or topic. A complete paragraph can have many number of sentences. Usually we practice five sentences minimum. Once you get the hang of it, you can shorter and lengthen paragraphs depending on what you want to communicate.
Structure:
Paragraph starts with topic/introduction sentence (topic turtle green?)
details / explanation sentences 2-3 minumum (middle maroon)
-
-
Closing/concluding sentence (final sentence fire engine red)
Our practice paragraph.
Apples are a good food to eat. They contain a lot of nutrients. Apples - all kinds like MacIntosh, Granny Smith and others - are tasty too! People all around the world eat them. Others claim you can eat apples instead of needing to use mouth wash. I guess that's why people say to eat them, "An apple a day keeps the doctor away."
Homework for tonight:
Math - read over pg34 terms and examples. Definition quiz tomorrow.
Language - Read over Aboriginal Foods and Aboriginal Games
Complete Spelling illustrations and/or any other unfinished work.
History - Jacques Cartier, Samuel Champlain and Colonizing the New World readings and answers should be complete.
We worked on our Scary Story scripts today!
