Happy Spring!
We had a very sleepy Math class following an envigorating DPA session.
Students are continuing to review the following math concepts.
I know how to: find the area and perimeter of a triangle (isosceles, scalene, right angle and equilateral)
-find the area and perimeter of a rectangle
-find the area and perimeter of a parallelogram
-find the area and perimeter of a trapezoid
While some like to memorize formulae, others use problem solving techniques.
Here is a link about two ways of calculating trapezoid areas:

We will be having a test next Tuesday to make sure everyone is up-to-speed.
We also learned about the Pythagorean theorem.

Math - complete worksheet (review) * complete charts of area of parallelograms and triangles for review
L.A. - note the paper bag novel study can be any container.
It is expected that students write and edit on paper and paste/attach writing to the container.
****make sure you bring novel every day****
Work on: 5 more vocabulary words (now 10 of 15 should be complete)
Complete title page
Geography - bring completed questions on Sierra Leone Wednesday.
Note: I've sent home a report card request for interview.
I am only available on Thursday, March 29 p.m.
I have put another slot. If you would like a phone interview or come in person on a date April 3-5th please let me know.
Also: During Geography today we had a mini-assembly for Monocliffs.
Our class is signed up to go to Monocliffs from May 2-4. There is a note going home today about a Parent information night on March 28th.
Basically it is an outdoor education centre where we will explore many activities including tree planting. The cost for the trip (including all meals except for the first day's bag lunch) is $75.
The letter going home is a letter of intent (that you intend to have your child take this opportunity for an overnight environmental education experience).
