Students continue to progress in dance. Most tried the flocking exercise today. It's the start of choreography and learning to dance within a group.
The last of our Book Study 1 presentations occurred today. Students will be taking time to prepare their Book Study 2 arguments for the rest of the week. We'll have a debate-sque activity next week for Book Study 2. Most students have submitted their individual persuasive writing about the novel they are defending. (It was due Monday.)
In Math we wrapped up Probability.
Science was a double period today. Students in grade 5 discussed and learned about building techniques to support structures from natural disasters (complement their individual research assignment). They also learned about ICFs (insulated concrete forms) an environmentally friendly and protective technology for building structure.
Science grade 5 individual research due Friday.
Pool period tomorrow.
Next Wednesday morning will be the annual Super Swim meet all morning.

No school tomorrow!
We're finishing up presentations on Book Study #1.
Book study #2 - Written paragraphs (individual assignment) due Monday.
We will have time to work in our groups to prepared for our "Room 201 Reads" style debate next week. Debates will take place on the following week of June 19th.
Kid Nation #5 - write-ups (some students have work still overdue).
We will continue with Kid Nation the week of June 19th & June 26.
So far we have watched 1, 3, 5 and 7.
Science - Grade 5s - work on your independent inquiry about a natural disaster. Due date next Thursday: June 15.
Math - Probability games. Most have finished and instructions were to be handed in.
We will take up some probability questions (assigned yesterday) on Monday.
Then the last few weeks of the year we will be doing an overall review of concepts learned this year.
Social Studies: Finish true and false sheet about Canadian governance before we start our final unit of the year about responsibilities and rights to do with Canadian citizenship.

Dance - We are examining and analyzing various Dance videos for five elements BERST (body, energy, rhythm, space and timing).
Media/Language Arts - Kid Nation episode 5 is overdue.

Math - last day to exchange probability games tomorrow.
Science - students were assigned a Natural disaster. They were given a printout to read for Thursday's class. Students have been sent the next assignment in Google Classroom. A printout is also available for them. Due next week on Thursday.
